TASTING NOTES: Juicy and vibrant! Plum, dark cherry, violet, and wild herbs.
APPELLATION: Diano d'Alba, Piedmont, Northwest Italy (at the base of the alps!)
FACTS: Farmed without pesticides or herbicides, in accordance with the cycles of the moon. Traditional, centuries-old winemaking techniques. This family has been tending this same INCREDIBLE plot of land since the early 1900s.
Why you've never heard of it: When people reach for Italian wines they tend to reach for Chianti or Barolo. Plus, this wine has no branding whatsoever. No cartoon label, snazzy website, fancy tasting room, or social media presence. Renzo wants the bottle to speak for itself and frankly I ASPIRE!
Why it rocks: Dolcetto is an overlooked darling that deserves our love! And this one is grown on possibly the best site in the world. A warming climate is making high-elevation regions like this one PERFECT for beautiful light red wines and this is one of my ABOSULTE favorites. Perfect with pizza, pasta, or Just Cheese and ready to drink RIGHT DANG NOW.
This has been a darling of the Sommelier community for several vintages. Let’s not let the wine nerds have all the fun! This isn’t sold anywhere in Louisiana because CORPORATIONS SUCK but I got you, baby! You work hard! Wine should be easy! Pop this bottle with any food at all, for any reason at all, and I promise you’ll have a delicious time.
